How i got started in food photography

🍋 I went to culinary school and worked in the restaurant industry for a while before starting a blog. I come from a family of hobby photographers and asked my dad for one of his cameras to take pictures of my food. I took an online photography class and fell in love with this new career
🧑🏻‍🍳 i had brain surgery in 2017 and it made me take a closer look at what was important. I ended up quitting my day job and pursuing photography full time, without knowing too much about how to run a business. I’m still learning every day, and pushing through self doubt and discomfort. I’ve built an amazing group of photographers and business that doesn’t look at me as competition, but community, and it’s amazing
📸 since taking this full time, i’ve worked with clients large and small, generated 6 figures in my business, and have learned so much about myself. Most importantly, I’ve been able to have the flexibility to raise my family while working the hours I want.

People may never understand why you’re starting your *little* photography business. Do.it. ANYWAY.
