Key Ingredients for this Recipe
1/4 cup mayo
1/4 cup sour cream
1 tbl horseradish
4 tsp Dijon Mustard
Crusty Baguette
Extra virgin olive oil
1/2 pound deli Roast Beef, thinly sliced
Microgreens, chives or green onions
Capers
Freshly grated parmesan cheese
Step By Step Instructions To Make This Roast Beef Appetizer
- Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Using a cutting board and bread knife, slice baguette on an angle to make small toasts.
- Place baguette slices in a single layer on a baking sheet or cookie sheet; brush both sides with olive oil, and season with salt and pepper.
- Bake until golden, 15 to 20 minutes, rotating sheets halfway through (if undersides are not browning, turn crostini over once during baking).
To make the horseradish cream sauce, combine the following in a small bowl:
1/4 cup mayo
1/4 cup sour cream
1 tbl horseradish
4 tsp Dijon Mustard
Salt and black pepper to taste
Spread a tablespoon of the horseradish dijon onto toasted baguettes.
Fold a piece of roast beef on top. You can get high quality roast beef from your deli counter at your local grocery store, or roast your own beef tenderloin at home.
Top with a small dollop of more creamy horseradish sauce, a few capers and some microgreens if you’d like (these are just for presentation). If you can’t find microgreens at your grocery store, chives or fresh parsley are a great topper as well and provide nice flavor!
Lastly, I added a few crumbles of freshly grated parmesan cheese and freshly ground pepper for another layer of flavor. I know you’ll love this delicious roast beef crostini!
Pair these roast beef crostini with a nice glass of wine. A great Cabernet Sauvignon or Shiraz is a perfect match for beef, and completes this bite!

Maille mustard is the best and my go to always! And I myself just bought the Flavor Bible book too and need to start using it in my cooking : ))
I’m obsessed with the flavor bible! Thanks for stopping by!
I have to get this Maille dijon mustard! I’m always looking for fun and delicious new mustards as my hubby is hooked! Your roast beef crostini looks so fabulous! I love everything about it, especially the horseradish sauce.
Oh my Goodness! I wish this was on my table right now! I think I wouldn’t be sharing these crostini with anyone 🙂
These crostini would be absolutely perfect for a holiday cocktail party. I’ll just put some bubbly in the cooler — and call my friends up!
I’m a huge fan of horseradish and also dijon mustard, and yet I’ve never combined the two of them into a cream. Time to check your amazing topping recipe. Thank you for inspiring me.
Today is the second time making this amazing appetizer. My guests raved about it last week so I’m making it again today. Thanks for a great recipe
Made it last night; so good! Everyone enjoyed it@
Absolutely delicious! I will definitely make these again for company. Thanks for sharing your recipes.
I have tried the recipe for Delicious and savory roast beef crostini recently but I have used organic ghee instead of using mayo. I likes the taste but is ghee is a better substitute to mayo? I am just wondering.

How much ahead of time can you prepare these? I’m concerned with the sauce making the crostini too soft.
I’ve made these before with arugula under the roast beef. What if I put the arugula down first then the sauce then the roast beef?
An hour or so. Adding arugula would help! I would make the ingredients separately and assemble right before the party
We made this and it’s delicious. Can’t get photo on here.
