Ingredients

Scale
  • 10 apples, quartered
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 4 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 tablespoon ground allspice
  • 1 tsp cloves
  • 1 orange, quartered

Instructions

  1. Place apples in a large stockpot and add enough water cover by at least 2 inches. Stir in maple syrup, cinnamon sticks, cloves, and allspice. Bring to a boil. Boil, uncovered, for 1 hour. Cover pot, reduce heat, and simmer for 1 more hour.
  2. Mash the oranges and apples against the side of the stock pot to release as much flavor as possible. Cover and simmer for another 30 minutes
  3. Strain apple mixture though a fine mesh sieve. Discard solids. Drain cider again though a cheesecloth lined strainer. Refrigerate until cold.
  4. Serve and enjoy!
