The butter is whipped to a light and fluffy texture, then combined with pumpkin butter to create a delicious spread called compound butter! Then it’s topped with fall fruits like roasted apples and figs, crunchy candied pecans, more pumpkin butter. Key Ingredients for this Fall Pumpkin Butter Board

Butter

You may use any type of butter you’d like. I used room temperature Anchor Dairy New Zeland salted butter in this sweet butter board recipe. It’s important to use soft butter for this butter board because if your butter is cold, you’ll end up with lumps. Using room temperature butter will result in a smooth, light whipped butter.

Pumpkin butter

You can either use store bought or easily make it at home with some pumpkin puree. Pumpkin butter can be found in the peanut butter aisle at your local grocery store.

Apples

This fall fruit adds another sweet component to this viral butter board. Dice and roast an apple in the oven with cinnamon and sugar until they’re fork tender. Sprinkle on top. I chose honey crisp, but you can use whatever apple you’d like.

Powdered Sugar

Powdered sugar adds a bit of sweetness to the compound butter without adding a grainy texture. You may also use maple syrup.

Candied Pecans

I love these candied pecans from Trader Joes. Chop up a handful and sprinkle them right on top of this fall butter board for a delightful crunch.

Fresh figs

Fresh figs are in season from August until October. Slice and place on top of this fall butter board for the most beautiful presentation.

Bread and crackers

To enjoy this fall butter board, you can use crusty bread, cinnamon raisin toast, or graham crackers to scoop the butter off the board.

Garnishes

Feel free to include other garnishes like edible flowers, pumpkin seeds, or even some flaky sea salt to top off this perfect butter board.

How to make a fall butter board

Spread Butter: On a wooden board or marble platter, spread the softened butter evenly on the board with a small offset spatula or a spoon. Leave about 2-3 inches around the edge.
Add apples: Sprinkle roasted apples over top of the butter
Add pumpkin butter: Use a spoon to drizzle with pumpkin butter
Add candied pecans and sliced figs.
