Key Ingredients for This Chai Tea Cocktail
Apple cider
Apple cider adds a natural sweetness and complexity that enhances the warm spices in this chai tea cocktail, creating a rich, layered flavor profile that’s both comforting and invigorating. Apple cider is perfect for any fall cocktail! You may use store-bought or homemade apple cider.
Chai Tea
This is one of my favorite teas because the flavors of chai tea are perfect for any fall drink! Cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, star anise and cloves are warm spices that provide a cozy, soothing experience, perfect for the cold weather that those fall days bring. I used two chai tea bags in 8 ounces of water and let them steep for at least an hour. Be sure to squeeze the tea bags well before removing them from the tea to get a strong flavored tea. Let the tea cool before adding to this chai spice cocktail. Alternatively, you could use chai concentrate for this drink. Just use a 2:1 chai to water ratio to make it extra strong.
Tequila
The crisp sweetness of apple cider complements the earthy, slightly spicy notes of tequila, creating a balanced flavor profile that’s both refreshing and intriguing. It makes this chai tea cocktail perfect for a chilly evening or your fall gatherings. I used blanco tequila for this chai tea cocktail.
Lime Juice
Adding lime juice to any cocktail will add a layer of complexity and depth, complementing other ingredients and enhancing their flavors. Freshly squeezed is best, but bottled lime juice works, too!
