• Measuring Cups (1/4, 3/4, 1/2, 1 cup)

• Measuring Spoons (tsp)

• Cookie Sheets or Baking sheets

• Parchment Paper or Silpat

• Large bowl

• Electric Mixer

• Large spoon or cookie scoop

Ingredients For Your Chewy Molasses Cookies

• 2 1/4 cup all-purpose flour, sifted

• 2 tsp baking soda

• 1 tsp allspice

• 1 tsp ground ginger

• 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon

• 1 teaspoon salt

• 3/4 cup room temperature unsalted butter, softened

• 1 1/2 cup sugar

• 1 large egg

• 3/4 cup dark molasses

How To Make Chewy Molasses Cookies

Step 1. Heat your oven to 350 degrees. 

Step 2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a Silpat.

Step 3. Beat together butter and sugar in a large bowl with an electric hand mixer or using a paddle attachment on a stand mixer until the butter is light in color (about one minute).  

Step 4. Add the egg and molasses and mix well to combine.

Step 5. Sift together the flour, baking soda, spices, and salt in a separate bowl. 

Step 6. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.  

Step 7. Using a large spoon or small cookie scoop, roll dough into small balls about 1″ in diameter.

Step 8. Arrange on a baking sheet, spacing them about 2″ apart.

Step 9. Bake at 350 for 9 minutes and let cool on a wire rack.

Chewy Molasses Cookies


Ingredients

2 1/4 cup all purpose flour, sifted

1 tsp allspice

1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp salt
3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 1/2 cup white sugar
1 egg
3/4 cup molasses

Instructions

Heat your oven to 350 degrees.  Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a Silpat.
Beat together butter and sugar in a large bowl with an electric mixer until the butter is light in color (about one minute).  Add the egg and molasses and mix well to combine.
Sift together the flour, baking soda, spices and salt in a separate bowl. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet and mix until just combined.  Using a large spoon or small cookie scoop, roll dough into balls about 1″ in diameter.
Arrange on a baking sheet, spacing them about 2″ apart.
Bake at 350 for 9 minutes and let cool.
