Ingredients
1/2 pound of onions, sliced
2 tablespoons olive oil
3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
3 tablespoons sugar
1 round wheel of brie
Bagel chips or crackers
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350
- Place brie round in an oven safe dish and bake for 15 minutes.
- While the brie is baking, slice the onions about 1/4″ thick.
- Heat olive oil in a large, heavy-bottomed saucepan and cook onions over medium-high heat for 20-25 minutes, stirring only occasionally
- Combine the balsamic vinegar and sugar in a small bowl. Stir together with a whisk and add to the onions.
- Cook it until the liquid becomes thickened and syrupy. Remove from the pan and set aside.
- Remove brie from the oven when finished and top with balsamic onion jam.
- Serve with bagel chips or crackers
