Delicious Baked Brie with Carmelized Onions and Balsamic

Description

Impress your guests with this easy and elegant appetizer: baked brie with balsamic onion jam. Perfect for any occasion!


Ingredients

1/2 pound of onions, sliced
 2 tablespoons olive oil
3 tablespoons  balsamic vinegar 
3 tablespoons  sugar 
1 round wheel of brie
Bagel chips or crackers

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350
  2. Place brie round in an oven safe dish and bake for 15 minutes.
  3. While the brie is baking, slice the onions about 1/4″ thick. 
  4. Heat olive oil in a large, heavy-bottomed saucepan and cook onions over medium-high heat for 20-25 minutes, stirring only occasionally
  5. Combine the balsamic vinegar and sugar in a small bowl.  Stir together with a whisk and add to the onions. 
  6. Cook it until the liquid becomes thickened and syrupy. Remove from the pan and set aside. 
  7. Remove brie from the oven when finished and top with balsamic onion jam.  
  8. Serve with bagel chips or crackers
